Get Baptized
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (Galatians 3:26-27)
When a new baby is born, the parents often send out a birth announcement. When a person is born again, we celebrate that with a birth announcement as well. This spiritual birth announcement is called baptism. At LakeView, we understand the Bible’s teaching to be that baptism doesn’t make a person saved any more than an Instagram photo made the baby come. The photo was posted to Instagram after the baby was born. In a similar way, baptism is your declaration that you have decided to follow Jesus. And it is the church’s affirmation of both your faith in Christ and your belonging to the fellowship.
We delight in baptizing people who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus as their God and Savior. The first step is to come to Jesus in faith and receive him as Lord.
