Child Dedications
Our next child dedication service is _________!
Contact our Children’s Discipleship Director if you are interested.
What is the difference between dedication and baptism?
A child is a God-given trust (Psalm 127:3). Child dedication is a Sunday morning ceremony that signifies your commitment to uphold that trust. This special service permits parents to publicly present their children to God and to make a commitment to bring their children up in a Christ-centered home.
Child dedication is different from infant baptism or christening. While these rites are significant for a variety of faiths, it is the practice of LakeView Church to dedicate children. We believe that all infants are destined for heaven should they die before they are old enough to understand and enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe that baptism is a public statement of faith that can be made only by someone who has made the decision to have a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Older children, however, can make that personal decision. Baptism is reserved for those who have reached an age of understanding and have placed a personal faith in Christ as their Savior.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord
