Pure Desire Conference
Today, we explored the profound intersection of faith and human sexuality, delving into the often-overlooked aspects of our created beings. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 139, which reminds us we are 'fearfully and wonderfully made,' we confronted the challenge of integrating our sexuality with our spiritual lives. The message emphasized that God designed sexuality as a good gift, but one that can be misused as a coping mechanism for unresolved pain or trauma. We learned about the neurological aspects of addiction, particularly how pornography affects the brain similarly to cocaine, highlighting the seriousness of this issue. The key takeaway is that healing is possible through honest relationships, education, and the renewing of our minds, as taught in Romans 12:2. This message challenges us to break the silence surrounding sexuality in our faith communities, encouraging open dialogue and compassionate support for those struggling. It's a call to embrace our whole selves - including our sexuality - in light of God's love and design.
