The Promise of Joy

Dec 14, 2025    Jesse Barriga

When the angel announces Jesus' birth to the shepherds, he doesn't just say 'good news'—he says 'good news of GREAT joy.' This is mega joy, joy unlike any other, because God himself has come in human flesh to bridge the impossible gap. We no longer need a temple, a mountain, or perfect obedience to worship God. Through Christ, we're seen as righteous—not because we've earned it, but because Jesus paid the price. This isn't plan B after Adam and Eve messed up; this was always God's beautiful plan to demonstrate the depth of His love. The question becomes: do we allow this good news to continuously fill us with joy, or do we choose to linger in fear, anger, and anxiety instead?
