Family Ministries February Post
In LVKids
This month, LVKids is continuing our theme of The ‘Who is God?’. Together, we’re walking through all the characteristics of our God and how all-encompassing He truly is. In February, we will look at different stories in the Bible and see how God is holy, how He is all-powerful, how He is always with us, and how He is our friend.
This month we're learning...
- February 2 - God is Holy, Exodus 40
- February 9 - God is All-Powerful, 1 Kings 18:1-39
- February 16 - God is Always with Us, 1 Kings 6:8-23
- February 23 - God is Our Friend, Psalm 25
Memory Verse
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." – Romans 8:39
In LVYouth
At the beginning of January, those who ventured with us on the winter retreat got the opportunity to partake in a weekend of fellowship through games, fun on the ice, and digging deeper into the theme of God’s joy throughout the Bible. We discussed what “Joy” truly means in a culture driven by fleeting happiness, where we can find it, and the active steps it takes to shift our perspective and dwell on Christ rather than the things of this world.
During our NYG nights this month, we are looking into the Armor of God. On January 15th, we discussed the reality of spiritual warfare and Christ’s final victory over evil, and now we’re progressing into how Christ’s victory can protect us from the lies the enemy tells us in our daily lives.
NYG is excited to announce our upcoming fundraiser: Talent and Testimony Night! On February 12th, both our youth and children will share what God has given them with the rest of church. Whether that be through singing, comedy, or the stories of how God is working in their lives, the NYG is welcoming friends and family of all ages to come by and enjoy dinner in fellowship as we tune in to the vision for our youth ministry. Admission and meals are free, but we will also be holding a dessert auction in order to raise money in support of our youth’s expeditions and ministry trips, and any extra donations are appreciated.

Ministry Architects Update
We are working with Ministry Architects as we learn how we can better serve our church’s children and youth. Recently there was a Parent Summit meeting wherein the staff got to hear the thoughts of the families and now we are compiling that data to fundamentally influence the trajectory of the youth ministry for the upcoming years.
Parenting Resources
We know that parents are their children's #1 spiritual influencers. And parenting isn't easy! When we find good resources, we'll share them with you as together we raise our kids to become adult disciples of Jesus!
