Check out what is happening in November

This month, we will be focusing on the stories of Paul and Peter in the book of Acts as we continue to teach in tandem with Sunday Service’s Bible Life Series. Also, with winter rapidly approaching, LVKids are hard at work, practicing our Christmas songs. We will sing in Church on December 15th

LakeView Church sees children as a gift from God, and we believe in child dedications as our way of committing ourselves to supporting that child in their walk with Jesus as they grow. We will be holding a child dedication service on November 17th. If you’d like more information, please contact Jo Barriga.

November 24th is LakeView’s Baptism Sunday, and we believe that baptism is a believer’s declaration that they’ve personally decided to follow Jesus. If your child has expressed a desire to make this next step in their faith, please contact Jo Barriga for more information.

Memory Verse

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill can’t be hidden.  Also, people do not light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand. Then it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matt. 5:14-16

This October, NYG discussed how answers and questions are the starting point of a mature faith, and not the end goal. We also learned from Diakonos Designs about how we can use something seemingly small like jewelry as a way to both remind us of God’s word and start conversations about our faith with others. In November, we will be diving deeper into our theme of questions and answers and discussing how when we ask big questions and get trusted answers, we can pour out our lives to the fullest in service and worship to Jesus.

The Barriga House has also opened up to a five week High School Bible study on Sundays after church. We are looking into the book of James and learning how to apply God’s word to our lives.

NYG’s annual Winter Retreat is approaching. We’ll be heading out from January 3rd to 5th. Registration opens Wednesday!

Ministry Architects Update

Parents and families are welcome to join LakeView at the Christian Formation Summit meetings on November 15th and 16th. These meetings are taking place as a continuation of our partnership with Ministry Architects wherein we can hear from families what they want their youth and children to take away from church by the time they are ready to leave LakeView and enter adulthood.
